The community of Calgary Christian School depends on volunteers for their input and time, and their involvement is invaluable to the staff and students of CCS. With enrollment, each family commits to share a minimum of 20 hours of service throughout the school year. Volunteer Opportunities are announced throughout the year in a variety of ways including an online form, newsletters and here on the website.

ECS Spring Picture Day and Kindergarten Grad Photos: assist on Monday May 14, starting at 8:45 am.
Grade 3 and Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Tests: please help students succeed by helping to read and/or scribe. Exams begin at 9:00 am and the commitment could last 1-3 hours depending on the exam; May 15 and 16, June 12, 14, 15, 18 and 19. The MS and HS will also be looking for assistance for June exams.
May 10: Society Meeting and Phil Callaway presentation: 3 to assist with setting up mats and chairs (starting around 4:00 pm) .
Week of May 14: assist teachers with displaying student art work on tri-fold boards for Fine Arts/Senior Projects Evening.
ES Garden Day, May 23: See the notes in classroom newsletter and get ready to get your hands dirty!
Mainstage Production: assist with prepping, cooking and also serving refreshments during the intermission. The two one-act plays will be presented May 30- June 2; prep work would occur prior to those dates. Proceeds from the refreshments will go towards an education fund for the seven children of CSCE staff member John Maz, who passed away March 1. Golf Tournament, June 15: assist with some behind
ES Sports Day: June 22: We are looking forward to a very exciting and competitive day! We need many volunteers to help make this day a success. The time commitment would be from 8:30 am -12:30 pm. Look for forms attached to your child’s classroom newsletter
Sign of the Times: If you have a few minutes to spare one day each week as you drop off/pick up your children at the ES, you can help us stay “on track”, changing the message on the information sign.

With all volunteers having the potential to supervise and interact with children at CCS, we require everyone to have a current Calgary Police Service Security Check and an Intervention Record Check for Alberta Social Services on file.
NEW for 2011 - both of these volunteer clearances can be obtained by simply visiting the school, filling out the appropriate form and presenting two pieces of ID. (Police Checks also have a cost of $25.) Please contact Janet to make arrangements.
