Hi. My name is David Westra. I am a high school math and science teacher at CCS.
I am a relatively new teacher. This will be my 7th year in the profession. When you meet me, you might be surprised at how old I look for someone who is 26. Actually, I came into the profession later in life. After high school, I took 1 year of engineering, and then went to Dordt College for 2 years. (hockey seasons really) I returned to University in 2001 to obtain my degree, and graduated in 2003.
When I graduated, my first job was in Beechy, a small town in south-central Saskatchewan. I taught there for 2 years. I taught in Ashmont, a small school about 2 hours northeast of Edmonton for 1 year.
I lived in Calgary until I was 8, and then moved to a farm 25 miles NE of Edmonton. Most of my time in between Dordt and Beechy was spent farming on the family farm. I have 2 children attending CCS, Megan, who is in grade 11, and Curtis in grade 8.
We are excited about being here and look forward to meeting all of you.
I can't figure out where to put this, so go to http://www.calgarychristianschool.com/Homework.php?ho...
