Tim Allison

I am excited to be teaching your grade 8 student, this year!  This is my third year teaching at CCS, and my 10th year teching at the junior high level.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending my time outdoors.  I get out as often as I can, to fish, hike, or to look at birds, dragonflies, and other wildlife.  The picture above, is of me, carefully handling a wild Boa constrictor (est. about 210 cm long) on Tobago, in April of 2013.  I also keep spiders (some of them live in my classroom, but I have several species at home, too).  The reptiles, fish, and arachnids that live around the perimeter of the room are there to demonstrate a small portion of the diversity of God's creation.  Students are encouraged to volunteer to help take care of them.

I strongly desire for my students to develop, and to maintain, a love for understanding the world around them; for how things work; for how things fit together; and for the complexity of the systems that we find all around us, and even within our own bodies.  I believe that Science has much to teach us about the character of the God who created it all; and would love to see my students come to understand God more thoroughly, through their study of this subject, which has fascinated me for as long as I can remember.

This year, I will be spending almost all of my teaching time with our grade 8 students, particularly in Science.  I look forward to having a great year, with them.

Please feel free to contact me at any time, with any questions or concerns that you may have.  I would strongly prefer that students see me as soon as possible, with regards to any difficulties/concerns/problems, so that we can resolve things quickly.
