At CCS our athletic teams love to compete and love to win but the athletic program is about more. It's about developing the right attitude a Christ-like character. Through programs like athletics, we are encouraging young people to reach for their best.

The purpose of our interscholastic program has been developed with our school philosophy in mind. To reflect this focus, the athletics department strives to live by the following five statements:
1. To allow for the discovery and exploration of God-given gifts and abilities, ensuring that God is given the glory for all successes and effort.
2. To be used as an opportunity to develop Christian character, leadership skills, sense of community, understanding of roles for the betterment of the team, responsible participation and accountability for effort and attitude.
3. To allow players to develop and demonstrate leadership abilities and to use their natural talents to build up those around them, while giving God the credit. Competition should reveal and help develop Christ-like character as described in Philippians 2:1-11.
4. To allow competition to bring clarity to aspects of our character that need further refinement such as: - a humble attitude towards winning and a gracious attitude in defeat - honest respect for team-mates, coaches, opponents, officials, equipment and facilities - courage, co-operation, determination, tolerance and self control Ephesians 5:22-26.
5.To develop school spirit and school pride in an enthusiastic atmosphere of sportsmanship, fair play and fun.
