“I've been behind the wheel of a CCS bus for more than 15 years, and I'm proud to be a part of a dedicated team of drivers.  At CCS, our busses provide a Christian environment because your child's education starts the moment they board a CCS bus.”

Arnie, bus driver

The Calgary Society for Christian Education, formed in 1954, is a multi-denominational society, composed of families from more than 100 churches. The society meets at least twice a year, offering a strong, diversified base of support for the school community. Each CCS family with a child in grades one to 12 must join the society.

Each year, the society elects new members to the Board of Directors from among its members. Supporting advisory councils are composed of staff, students and society members. All positions are voluntary.

The aim of this governance model is to provide members the opportunity to actively participant in providing quality education for their child.

The Society depends on four sources of funding – government grants, tuition, membership fees and donations. CCS currently receives about 45 per cent of its revenue from government funding but has no access to provincial capital and operating grants. Therefore, the Society must raise all funds required for expansions, renovations, maintenance work and other needs such as computers.
As our recent school expansion once again demonstrated, CCS truly could not have flourished over the last 45 years without the committed volunteer efforts of CCS supporters.
