Grade 6 focused on heroes, researched people who have made an impact on society, and which throughlines were demonstrated by their work in the larger community.
We also wrote letters to heroes in our city and province and thanked them for their tireless work and contributions during this time of COVID. The students had fun working on a superhero project, drawing and writing stories about NHL guardians and connecting this to the LA curriculum.
Several throughlines that repeatedly stood out for the students included: community building, servant working, and image reflecting. This was powerful learning for our students as many of our days were filled with authentic learning experiences.
