Elementary Vice Principal
Hello! My name is Monique Wagner and Calgary Christian School is like a second home to me.
I love this place and I love working with your children. This is my eighth year as the Vice-Principal in the elementary school, and have been here as teacher, parent, and even long ago as a student for more years than I can count on my fingers and toes together. I love doing all things active - playing and coaching volleyball, hiking, biking, walking my dog, and just generally being on the move. I have recently discovered that I think Disneyland is a blast! Travelling there with my husband and my teens this summer was possibly one of my best holiday experiences. I do love to travel and have had a lot of great and different experiences and learning in that way.
I am a graduate of the King’s University, as well as the University of Calgary. I have taught many different subjects from grades 1 - 9, with most of my teaching years being in grades 6 and 7 (I think Middle School kids are pretty fun.) In the past few years, I have started teaching an early intervention reading program and I love it! It seems that students of all ages are rewarding to teach. :)
People often ask what I do as a Vice-Principal, and the best answer I can come up with to encompass the job is, “I help teachers and students, and I solve problems.” I am looking forward to using my gifts of serving and solving again this year, and doing my best to follow God’s direction in my life.
