Ms. Catherine Janz

Hello Calgary Christian Family,

My name is Catherine Janz and I have the privilege of being part of the Grade 4 team. I grew up in Fort Saskatchewan, and studied at Concordia University in Edmonton where I received my B. Ed. I then continued my education through the University of Lethbridge, receiving my M. Ed. in the area of Literacy. I love learning about the diverse world of language, words and stories, and always seek ways to further enhance my understanding in these areas. 

Here at CCES, we love to learn about the various throughlines and how we can apply them to our lives. While each throughline has meaning and significance, I would say the one that most resonates with me is Creation Enjoyer. I love being out in the mountains, hiking, camping, biking, and generally just taking in the beauty of God’s creation. I appreciate the opportunity to be still and at peace, while reflecting on the greatness of our God. 

I began my teaching career at Menno Simons Christian School where I taught Grade 2. In 2018 I changed things up and joined the CCES community. I look forward to another wonderful year here. I am eager to get to know your children, and help guide them through their journey as academic learners, and more importantly as children in God’s world.
