Faith Formation at the Secondary Campus

Calgary Christian Middle School Plan

Bloom's Taxonomy of Learning - Application and Analysis

Grade 7-9 students will go on a Christ-centred discipleship journey that extends beyond the classroom. Students participate in a three fold bible program consisting of:

  1. Christ-Centered, engaging, Bible instruction
  2. Discipleship Opportunities
  3. Praise & Worship classes.

Students will Live Out God’s Word through intentional Bible Engagement, Discipleship, Praise and Worship.

SHINE ON:

The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.

Calgary Christian Middle School’s Discipleship Program centers on practical service through Christ-centered learning. Pastor Erich teaches students how to serve God's Kingdom through hands-on application of Scripture, emphasizing both the meaning and importance of Christian service.

Students in Drama Club, Praise and Worship Elective and Art Class will work together to create a Day Outreach Event called Shine On. Students will extend their faith formation beyond the classroom by developing and implementing "Shine ON," a Children's Outreach Day that puts their faith into action. This event shares Christ's love and grace through games, worship, and fellowship, equipping students to carry their servant hearts into their homes, churches, and communities.

The leadership team has developed a four-phase expansion plan for Shine ON:

  • November 2025: Elementary students attend and invite friends
  • April 2026: Children from other elementary schools invited
  • November 2026: All community children invited
  • 2027+: Partner with other Christian schools to host their own events

Elementary students who attend will develop into future Shine ON leaders, transitioning from participants to planners when they reach Middle School.
