Mr. John Bird
Grade 3
Hello CCES families,
My name is John Bird and I am delighted to be teaching Grade 3 at Calgary Christian Elementary School (CCES) this year. Grade 3 is exciting and busy with lots of new learning.
This is my 10th year at CCES, and over 23 years in teaching, I have taught a variety of grades at schools in Calgary and in British Columbia. I have so many interests: reading, running, cycling, cross-country skiing, travelling, music, and being with family and friends.
At our school, weaving God’s biblical themes or "through-lines" into the curriculum is the starting point of our teaching. There are several through-lines that speak to me. Two of them are Community-Building and Justice-Seeking, as I strive to see people working together in a spirit of harmony and service.
It is my deep hope 3B that you will grow and be curious in your learning, discover interests and talents that you are passionate about, and serve God and others as an engaged citizen.
This year, I look forward to seeing the students in Grade 3 and at CCES grow academically, socially and spiritually.
