Grade 6

Hello,

I am honored to be part of CCS as a teacher and a parent. Before becoming part of the CCS teaching community, I taught for 16 years with the Calgary Board of Education. In 2012 I graduated with my Masters Degree from Gonzaga University and my research topic on Boys and Learning (targeting writing) was published in Reclaiming Children and Youth.

I am a passionate educator and have a great love for sports, as a player and a fan.  I believe in a strong sense of community and within my classroom and through the intramurals I coach, there will be strong evidence of Community Building and Servant Working.

My husband and I have two daughters and as a family we are active in many sports and in giving back to the greater community. I grew up and worshipped at Grace Lutheran Church and recently have started attending elsewhere to provide our daughters with a larger youth group experience.  I have lots of favorite Bible verses but one of my favorites is: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive one another if you any of you have a grievance against someone.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:12-14

"It is my deep hope that through risk-taking, play and celebration of learning successes, my students will naturally thrive in a Christ-centered, accepting and relaxed environment"

I am looking forward to a wonderful year!  If you have any questions, please contact me by email.

Blessings,

Mrs. Shauna Gooliaff
